@Alumnos: German is very polite too but formality decreases as one becomes friends. In Japanese no matter how intimate you become, there are certain environments such as school or workplace where the dots must be put on the Is.
How about learning Japanese from your home and at your best convenience using SKYPE? I give lessons in all levels and can help you learn whether you like MANGA or want to learn business Japanese. I have a bachelor's degree in Japanese taken at Rio de Janeiro Federal University and a master's in Japanese/Sociolinguistics taken at Osaka University. Besides that, I have been living in Japan for 11 years. Please feel free to make comments on the postings so that I can improve this blog. またね! See you!

Is it like that?
They are deeply polite.
I guess it's like in German, where you have to speak formally if you don't know the other person.
